What is a fact?

A fact is based on direct evidence and is something that can be proven. A fact can be an observation and an experience. [2]
A fact is a non-biased statement. Other names for facts are information, data, observations, and clues. One fact would be that the golf course was opened eight years ago and is owned by Sandy Trapp. This is a statement that is non-biased and can be proven with evidence. [3]
A fact is a statement that is true and has been proven.[4]
Facts can be found in multiple different places, such as websites, encyclopedias, or anywhere that presents informaton that can be proven true. Websites could be fact or opinion based on of they are a professional or personal, professional usually based on fact, and personal is usually based on opinions.

What is the different between a fact and a theory?
A theory is a thought that explains observations and predict new thoughts. [5]

A fact is something that really exists and is the truth. It can also be information based on a real event.[8] It is also something that is an objective piece of information.[9]

One example of a fact is that Chris Brown danced upside down at the AMA awards. This can be proven and backed up with evidence.
