In "Mountain Biker Meets Mountain Lion", it says that a mountain biker was lunged at by a mountain lion while riding. It also says that human encounters with mountain lions are common in areas where deer and lion hunting have been stopped.

In "An Unlikely Killer", it says that deer can kill more people than bears or lions combine. Over populations of deer also causes damage by destroying plants in wild areas, causing erosion.

Today, the number of deer had changed from barely any, to about 25,000,000, (from 1900).

To stay away from mountain lions, it says to talk, whistle, or sing while walking or being in the woods or forest to scare them away. They also state to make yourself look bigger and taller than them, and look confident.

Mountain lions usually only eat weak, sick, or old deer, leaving the healthy deer behind to keep populating.

When humans hunt deer, they kill a lot more deer that are healthy rather than old, sick, or weak deer.

Carrying capacity is the population size that an area has the resources to support.

The carrying capacity can change, (go up or down). Up: If more resources become available, then the carrying capacity rises. Down: If a resource is lowered or taken away.

Limiting Factors are the factors that keep animal and plant populations from going out of control. Some limiting factors are: predators, hunting, parasites, lack of resources, disease, competition, immigration, etc.

Without limiting factors, everything would be overpopulated.
