What chemical spills are,
A spill, leak, escape,or loss of chemicals into the environment, including air, water, or land.[1]

How chemical spills affect our environment,
Chemicals can spill into parts of our enviorment like air and water causing things to happen to organisms living in that environment. For example, fish might be dying in the Gray Area due to certain chemicals.[2] Chemcial spills can cause many things to die, for example fish can die if chemical spills are dumped into a river or lake.[3] Chemical spills can occur anywhere and if hey do most people are un-prepared for them and depending on how bad they are, be forced to evacuate."Thousands of incidents occur each year in which oil or chemicals are released into the coastal environment. Spills into our coastal waters, whether accidental or intentional, can harm people and the environment, and can have severe economic impacts, including substantial disruption of navigable waterways."[4]
